Level Up!
The level-up system in this game is absolute crud. One of the only ways to get gold is through raiding, and with raiding brings experience. This may sound good, but its not. Im constantly trying to get gold to max out my heroes, but I obtain too much experience in the process. Consequently, Id be about halfway through levelling-up my heroes, and then I myself would level up. This makes it nigh on impossible to max out my heroes, because with me levelling up brings on a new max hero level. Soon, Im 15 player levels ahead of my heroes, and my hero ability levels are 10 levels below them. Furthermore, this gets me raided all the more often in PVP, as opponents are based on player level rather than hero level, so Id be against players with actual maxed out heroes rather than my dinky little half-levelled heroes.
Heres a tip, Big Fish Games: lower the amount of experience obtained vs the amount of gold obtained in raids. Balance is key, so maybe also raise the amount of gold obtained as one goes forth in Campaign mode. And make PVP based off of hero level rather than player level.
The chest opening animation is buggy and slow. This isnt LoZ, people; you dont need an epic opening cutscene for every single chest! Especially not for the 10x chest. Speaking of which, why not just make one big chest which displays all of the chests contents rather than 10 small chests which I often speed through because they take so frigging long, potentially missing some important information! Or an alternate idea would be to simply show all 10 chests at once. And honestly, if I pay something as valuable as honor scrolls for a chest, I dont want to gamble for a good chest; promise something good.
Evos are another issue that must be addressed. It should be at least a tad easier to get evos, and cost less to combine them. Maybe make it 3 larvae to make an evo, rather than frigging 10?!?
There should be a place to sell XP pots for gold, because I have around 200 XP pots and nothing to do with them. While youre at it, make an actual alchemy lab where one can combine XP pots to get better ones. Actually, make it so that anything can be sold and bought with gold, so people like me dont end up with too much XP and not enough gold, while increasing the gold load in Campaign.
On a last not, reduce the frigging prices! I thought PvZ2 was bad, making me buy plants for 99 cents and starter packs being 5 bucks, but this app just takes the cake. $129.99 for a STARTER PACK? Just stop. Just, stop.
All in all, Id give this game 0.5 stars, because although its unbalanced, it has a nice concept about it.

The girls are kind of ugly. Perhaps make them a bit higher definition?
