Fun but sometimes too much of a money grab than a thoughtfully balanced game.

I am revising this from a 5* to an (unofficial) 2.5* as I am not a fully 6* roster in game, they have more grounds for 1* reviews. Its a good game they just really dropped the ball with the portal changes and the aether shop conversion rates. The value/exchange of in game currencies is a joke right now, nothing makes sense. Gems used to be THE gold standard...now they feel worthless yet hold the same real world $ value? Progression for starring heroes can be painfully slow. When I had a forced conversion of 55 nub tokens for 550 aether that was a big sign of a big problem. Gems should not be tied to aether through portal rewards or at least have a conversion/reward rate that is equal to or greater than the investment...this is a game after all, its supposed to be fun. Turn around the game or go in a better direction and regain a true 5* rating.

This used to be one of the best games on the app store. Super addictive. Super fun. Decent progress rate. I never pay for anything, but I was happy to spend on this one to encourage the devs, that were providing me with this enjoyment. I know, I played non stop for around 250 days. Then came the dark times. New administration. Slowly over time, the once fun game became very grindy. Progression was dramatically slowed. Event rewards got lowered by a factor of 5 to 10. Items in the in game shop are frightfully expensive. Now, even with all that, the game added some nice features, so a player could somewhat swallow it and still enjoy a few things. Somewhat. But the latest major update contained a very significant change. One very very much to the detriment of the players. Basically, you can no longer get to the point where you max out your heroes within a year or two of playing. New heroes take a minimum of 500 dollars to max out. Think about that. One single hero within a mobile app game. 500$. The more informed players that used to spend tons of money on the game left. People massively asked for refunds. To sum it up, you have been warned. Forget the positive reviews of this game. I read a number of them and they make no sense. Go read the game forums for a better idea. Read the negative reviews for a better idea. If you want to have a bit of fun, progress a bit but not that much then hit a massive paywall, or if you have thousands and thousands of dollars to waste away, then this game is for you. Otherwise, wait like a number of the old players do, that the devs realize their mistake and bring this game back to its once greatness.

Very awesome game except I think you should like for example I have one water evo and I want to make 10 water larvas you cant do that so thats why Im only giving a four star rating

This game is a great game to play and until recently they have strong armed the game into a "pay to win" setup. Not to mention that I can not even get into the game because it says my version is unsupported, even though it is the most recent version... This could go back to being a great game and I would gladly re-rate the game if it focused back on gameplay and not "pay to win" tactics...

Currently locked out I play every day. I dont think spending $15 total on a game I enjoy is a horrible waste of cash. Been playing 3 months. Thats all I spent to date to get some vip status. Really like the graphics. Reminds me of my old Everquest days

Still broken, and way too much of a money grab. Dont waste your money on this game. Do something more fun, like smack your own face with a wet flounder. The final straw was the recent update wherein the braintrust at DB decided to make the heroic portal random, meaning that you need to spend way more both time and money to get and upgrade the "heroes" that you need to play the game with. If you dont feel like spending thousands of dollars on a phone app game and still being unable to muster a top notch team, this game is not for you.

I was playing the game and the. The next day boom! Update i was super happy but when I updated it but then it said unsupported device and I freaked out how and why couldnt I play this when I did yesterday fix this and stop being a couple of losers who just also reined the game with paying a lot for everything..... ( I read the other comments )

So lame! App Store says Im updated but msg. Says I have outdated software, go update.

I have been playing for a few months daily, but the last major update changed a core concept of the game that sets newer players at a severe disadvantage to previous ones in ways beyond simply time. Portals now do not remove heroes that you have fully starred (have max tokens for) so it is a lottery to get portal heroes to six stars. This seemed universally disliked. Instead of listening to player feedback with their next update the company has done nothing to correct the issue, but has issued another update to wipe bad ratings off of the list.

Ive played dungeon boss for a good long time and found it very enjoyable. However, the most recent update has ruined the finely tuned balance in a blatant cash grab by the company. It has traded skill and dedication for a paid roulette style method of increasing your power, with wrong "spins" giving basically nothing. The more you play, the more likely it is to get garbage. Sad to say.

Aether Shop update devalues in game currency(gems) and makes starring up your roster and gaining new heroes almost impossible. Its like a slot machine with really bad payout. Ive spent over $100 and four months of my time on this game to have it ruined over night. Do not download until they fix this issue!

I have never written a review for any app EVER. The decision makers in this game have no idea what they are doing and are actively destroying a great game. They should call this Dungeon Casino because this game is nothing but luck at this point. Save your time and money and skip DB.

This game is very addicting and fun!! Often find myself spending too much time on it at work!

Game has gone downhill over the past couple of months. Incentive of pay to win is overwhelming. Do not open your wallet for this unfair game.

Recent update is a sheer money grab on the amount of Aether given for excess tokens. The portal got no love and completely got screwed up. Ive been playing since this game globally released. It was tons of fun for a good time until they broke their portals. Seriously, not to mention this game will milk your wallet dry better now if you are the type to spend money on games as this. Honestly, especially any potential new players, if you are considering downloading this app dont. Save time and money.

i myself have spent 10$ on this game but since the recent update the portal made it way to hard to get new heroes for started... Another thing is i kept restarting because every time i rolled a heroic summon i got sifu jianzi and he is good but he is boring but then yesterday i finally got someone else (phenol thoxian) so i think this game is rigged and a money grabbing peice of $h!+

I think this is an amazing game and it is very addictive. But when you get really good its hard to get the really good guys you need to win. And Then I Tried to buy this pack to help and every time it just said loading so I just wasted 5$

I have invested a lot of time and money on the game, and it used to be a favorite. The latest major update ruined the game, making in-game currencies worthless. It would take thousands of dollars of purchases now to be competitive in this game. Literally. Do yourself a favor and find a different game.

I think this is a fun game all and all but because there are some thangs that are ridiculous like the price for the most expensive game pass which is 99.99 I mean GOOD God thats expensive
